Oh - A Poem
Oh, the things I have seen
The troubles I have faced
All the places I have been
In my long fall from grace
Oh, the heartaches I have suffered,
The barricades in my path,
Time keeps moving forward
And there is no going back
Oh, the wounds have long bled dry,
But the pain never ends
And I can no longer cry
Though my soul is torn and rent
Oh, the darkness is eternal,
And the spark of life so brief,
An endless, bottomless well
Filled to the brim with grief
Oh, if only I could find a way,
To realize those long lost goals,
But there are Karmic debts to pay,
And Fate has claimed my soul.
Oh, if only I had a light to follow,
To save me from my sins,
But my soul is an empty hollow
And I have but darkness . . . within
This poem, like many things I write, came to me in the dark hours of the night, as I worked on an unrelated
project. - the Author
